An Introduction to Carolyn Kearns

Carolyn Kearns is one of the four founding partners of The Randolph Group, a Toronto based general management consulting firm specializing in issues of strategy, business planning and organization for public and not-for-profit clients. Most of her 30 plus years in consulting has focused on issues facing public sector organizations including municipalities, regions/counties, Provincial ministries and their related agencies, boards and commissions.
Carolyn has an honours undergraduate degree in sociology and a graduate degree in urban and regional planning, both from the University of Toronto. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners and served for four years as member of the CIP jury for the annual awards program. She has lectured in Urban Studies at Atkinson College at York University and has been a guest lecturer in the planning program at the University of Toronto's Graduate School.
Carolyn is currently serving as the Public Liaison Director on the Board of Governors of the Society of Management Accountants of Ontario. She is a frequent speaker on municipal management issues. Recently she has authored articles for Municipal World dealing with areas of interest for both members of Council and senior management.
Over the past several years, Carolyn has developed an extensive practice in strategic planning and organizational effectiveness. She has been involved in projects for municipalities in Eastern Ontario including the Counties of Hastings, Lanark, Peterborough, Renfrew, Northumberland, Prescott and Russell, and the municipalities of Leeds and The Thousand Islands, Kingston, Pembroke, and Ottawa.
